  • Youth access law in 1998 that was a model for other states.
  • Monitoring and maintaining funding for state-run tobacco prevention and cessation programming for Kansas communities.
  • Cigarette state excise tax raised from 24 cents to 79 cents in 2002.
  • Defeat of a repeal petition filed in 2002 against the smokefree restaurant ordinance in Salina.
  • Assistance with a variety of local community coalitions to adopt clean indoor air ordinances, resulting in 39 such policies between 2002 and 2009.
  • Coordination of mobilization, media, grassroots actions that led to the passage of the Kansas Indoor Clean Air Act in 2010.
